Name: <\/strong>Emily Mabel Gussoni Ferrin<\/p>\n

Age:<\/strong> 13 Years old<\/p>\n

Costa Rica Professional Ranking:<\/strong> 3rd<\/p>\n

Years surfing:<\/strong>\u00a0I’ve always been on a surfboard\u2026<\/p>\n

Years competing:<\/strong> 6 years.<\/p>\n

Favorite maneuver:<\/strong> Airs\u2026. It gives me adrenaline!<\/p>\n

What do you do when you’re not surfing?:<\/strong>\u00a0I do a lot of yoga, physical training, studying or listen to music.<\/p>\n

What advice would you give to grommets and younger competitors?:<\/strong>\u00a0 My advice is to compete in every contest they have, practice in all type of waves, and don\u2019t be scared to surf with better or older surfers.<\/p>\n

What advice would you give to a new surfer?:<\/strong> For those just learning how to surf, my advice is to learn with a professional,<\/a> don\u2019t just try by yourself or you will have bad habits.<\/p>\n

What awards & prizes have you won surfing: <\/strong>I haven\u2019t been a national champion yet, but in the Junior Category I\u2019m in second place. I am part of the Costa Rica national surfing team. I won 3rd place in 2010 in the \u201ccentroamericano\u201d in Nicaragua when I was only 10. I have also participated in World Junior Championships<\/p>\n

Your favorite wave outside of Costa Rica?:<\/strong> Se\u00f1oritas in Peru.<\/p>\n

How do you feel when you’re surfing?:<\/strong> Surfing makes me happy, it gives me freedom, it\u2019s my life.<\/p>\n
