Maybe it\u2019s the all-star cast of 1980\u2019s professional surfers like Occy, Laird Hamilton, Mark Foo, Gerry Lopez and Derek Ho. When the main character, Rick Kane, wins a surf contest held in his local Arizona wave pool, he decides to spend his prize money on a plane ticket to the North Shore of Oahu for the big wave season.<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Having only surfed 2-foot chlorinated waves in his life, Rick Kane is confronted with the raw power of the North Shore during his first actual surf session in the ocean. Throughout his journey, Rick finds romance with the prettiest girl in Hawaii (of course), gets into multiple fist fights with \u201cDa Hui\u201d, learns the art of surfboard shaping alongside a local legend, and even qualifies for the most prestigious surf competition in the world, the Pipeline Masters.<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The movie is filled with classic 80\u2019s attire, thick cumbersome surfboards, and some of the greatest 2-minute montages (think Rocky Balboa training to Eye of the Tiger). I won\u2019t give away the ending, but I\u2019m sure you can make an educated guess.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-980a0f7 elementor-widget elementor-widget-image\" data-id=\"980a0f7\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"image.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" width=\"942\" height=\"568\" src=\"http:\/\/164.68.121.224\/wrsc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/turtle-and-rick-kane-north-shore-movie.jpg\" class=\"attachment-large size-large wp-image-39753\" alt=\"Turtle and Rick Kane, North Shore the movie\" srcset=\"http:\/\/164.68.121.224\/wrsc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/turtle-and-rick-kane-north-shore-movie.jpg 942w, http:\/\/164.68.121.224\/wrsc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/turtle-and-rick-kane-north-shore-movie-300x181.jpg 300w, http:\/\/164.68.121.224\/wrsc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/turtle-and-rick-kane-north-shore-movie-768x463.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 942px) 100vw, 942px\" \/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7d595a5 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"7d595a5\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But why is this particular movie so much more likable when compared to similar Hollywood surf counterparts? Movies like Big Wednesday, Point Break, or Blue Crush don\u2019t come close to sparking the same nostalgia as <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">North Shore<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Even though this movie is 32 years old,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">it still remains at the top of most surfers\u2019 list, and we have no idea how&#8230; You\u2019ll just need to watch it for yourself<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do you know any other movies that fall into the, \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">so bad, it\u2019s good<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d category?
