After a hiatus lasting more than two years, competitive surfing in Costa Rica has finally returned.<\/p>

The Costa Rican Federation of Surf launched a reactivation surf circuit that started one month ago in Playa Hermosa, Jaco and a second date in Playa Carmen, Santa Teresa. Both events delivered excellent wave conditions that created the perfect setting for these athletes.<\/p>

The next contest will be held this upcoming April 23rd and 24th in Playa Tamarindo. Witch\u2019s Rock Surf Camp is excited to be the official sponsor for this season\u2019s 3rd event, with the contest being held at the front steps the resort.<\/p>

This will be a very exciting weekend for the Tamarindo surfing community. We\u2019re expecting to see more than 90 local surf competitors from all around the country giving everything they have in the water, with a chance to earn a spot on the Costa Rica National Junior Surf Team, and the ability to represent Costa Rica in the next Junior World Cup at the ISA World Cup this upcoming May in El Salvador. Tamarindo local surfers to keep an eye on include Malakai Martinez, L\u00eda D\u00edaz, Coral Wiggins from Avellanas and others.<\/p>

Surfers can register in the six categories of the event: Open Men, Open Women, Junior Men (under 18), Junior Women (under 18), Boys (under 16) and Girls (under 16).<\/p>

As competitors anxiously await, multiple south swells are currently filling into the region and should dish out fun surf for this coming weekend.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
